Smart cleanse or detoxing is very important,everyday our bodies are being exposed to toxins through food, water, air and cosmetics. It’s almost impossible to completely avoid toxins but there are simple things you can do to reduce your exposure.
Drink water regularly
Water is the most efficient way carry out a smart cleanse detox for the body. Make sure to drink enough water every day at least 2 Liters for women and 3 Liters for men.
Stop smoking & alcohol.
Alcohol causes damages to the liver and keeps it from functioning efficiently resulting in toxin build up.
Read Labels!
Look for products that are phthalate- and triclosan free cosmetics. Also avoid products with retinyl palmitate, a form of vitamin A that breaks down in the sun and has been linked to skin tumours and lesions. Remember, if you can’t eat it don’t apply it on your skin or body
Avoid plastic water bottles.
Plastic contains BPA. Choose glass instead of plastic when storing food and never heat plastic in the microwave, as this can cause BPA to seep into your food. Drink water all day long but not from a plastic bottle.
Don’t eat canned food
Cans are lined with BPA. Exposure to BPA is a concern because of possible health effects of BPA on the brain, behaviour and prostate gland of foetuses, infants and children. Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA and increased blood pressure.
Reduce meat intake
Test have shown that conventional meats are filled with hormones and antibiotics that can be toxic to our bodies
Eat organic
Organic foods are grown or produced without the aid of pesticides or antibiotics. When possible be sure to choose organic fruits, vegetables, dairy and meat to reduce your exposure to nasty pesticides and hormones. Make a habit of cooking from scratch using fresh whole food ingredients.
Do a colon cleanse
Avoid constipation, so that once the liver has done its job of converting the fat soluble toxins into water soluble compounds, they are easily and rapidly eliminated in the stool. Constipation leads to re circulation of toxins in the body, increasing toxic exposure, thus increasing risk for cancers and other chronic diseases. Ensure your colon is not clogged and building up toxins by pooping regularly or doing a colon cleanse detox. Using an organic tea is a great way to do a toxin detox
